Maren was and is a bright, giving strong young woman who was talented and one of the best friends anyone could ever ask for. She understood at a young age that her life had no room for complacency. She live life to the fullest and was excited about everything she did. Maren danced to her own beat, never really too concerned about peoples opinions of her. She understood that people needed to express themselves and be true to their own dreams and visions. Once you met Maren, no one ever forgot her.
On April 25th, 2014, the world lost Maren to a violent crime that should have never happened. On that day, thousands of lives changed forever. The gravity of the crime and the insurmountable pain was almost too much to bear, for all of Maren's family and friends. Maren was everybody's daughter that day.
Maren was an artist, a singer, an actor, and a photographer. She loved to make people smile. In fact, The Home Foundation's name was inspired by the song she performed at her high school talent show, Phillip Phillip's "Home." As she sang that night, members of the audience wiped tears from their eyes. She won the talent show with her heartfelt performance, and that song has now become a message from Maren for everyone who has been left behind.
SECURITY, LOVE, ACCEPTANCE, NOURISHMENT, SAFETY: This is what Home is supposed to mean to people. The is Maren's vision. This is what the Maren Sanchez Home Foundation is about.
